My name is Hayley, and I live in NW France. Twenty-one years ago, I moved to France to start a new chapter with my husband and young daughter after a difficult period of health worries. Like many people who buy a home here, I quickly discovered that settling into life in France involves far more than collecting the keys.
Since then, I’ve built businesses, raised two children born in France, worked as an estate agent, published an English-language magazine, run a café, supported refugee families through a local charity and spent years helping people navigate everyday life in France.
Along the way, I’ve learned that French administration isn’t impossible—it just works differently. Sometimes all it takes is knowing who to contact, what documents are needed and having the patience to keep going until the problem is solved.
